summer sewing

I think the knitting craze kind of settled down for a while now, but there is always plenty of things to keep busy with.

For example in past few days I bought my first pattern and spent ages piecing it together…

Then I made this little halter neck top…. proud because I managed to make this unaided and also cut the bias binding too ๐Ÿ˜€ (no fancy bias binding aids, just my scissors) Although, I think my technique of sewing the bias binding onto the arms for example could be improved…not bad for first attempt though ๐Ÿ™‚

Weโ€™ll see if it fits anyone tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜€

sunny yellow

I was recently browsing on Pinterest, looking for knitting patterns… (as you do) something to use for my next project. And I stumbled across this little alteration gem, which is a cardigan made out of a sweatshirt. So I went to the closest charity shop looking for a sweatshirt to use. Obviously there was none to serve the purpose… but I found this little t-shirt from Landโ€™s End in lemon yellow. (forgot to take a โ€˜beforeโ€™ pic, sorry)

I slept on it and woke up with the idea what Iโ€™ll do to it ๐Ÿ˜€

Whipped out my Alabama Chanin book and I used her corset patternย and the end result is…..

I was super lazy, used my sewing machine to assemble the pieces and also only used my phone to take some quick pics of it ๐Ÿ˜€

… and here it is in action

FullSizeRenderI like the raw edges and probably if I were toned enough Iโ€™d love how figure hugging the garment isย ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, back to knitting for me !

beads and wire

After being ill for so long with the nastiest sinus infection, it feels great and liberating to create nice things again.

Ever since I discovered tiger tail wire for my self I am hooked onto making necklaces with it.
Specially these simple types with crimp beads and combining various glass beads. Simple, elegant, quirky… I like ๐Ÿ™‚

The yellow one is already available in my shop

Hope spring is gona come soon and it will bring some sunshine ๐Ÿ™‚

Let the magic begin…

One of my favorite months has started, October ๐Ÿ™‚
Best in many ways, colors are spreading everywhere, my birthday is in the middle of it, the sun is still warm and I don’t know why but it always feels like the air is vibrating with something amazing… like something magical is about to happen, or something life-changing is waiting just round the corner. Love it!

So today, to cherish October’s gifts, I took a few photos

Je veux more creative and productive days! :)

I have been on and off about spring lately… but it just makes me so so happy to see all this sunshine.

Today I went outside, inhaled all the warmth and dug out a gorgeous vintage canvas fabric, I bought ages ago and started making… and here it is, a spring bag!!!

It is far from perfect but it is my absolute favorite so far… I used a D-ring to make the shoulder strap adjustable and also a green satin ribbon and a hand made, light pink, ceramic button to close it. And I even tested it ๐Ÿ˜‰ – didn’t wanted be miss-lead by the flowery look. The result – definitely sturdy!

Thank you for dropping by, see you next time, but until then, listed to her!

Raspberry Paradise

I started this bag last night and finished it this morning… and I found that it takes just oneย Coldplay – Paradise to sew around the top of the bag… so as you can guess, I listened to this song quite a few time while making itย ๐Ÿ™‚ All and all I enjoyed it…

The best part is when I pin the lining together with the shoulder straps and the outer bag and the first time you can see the outlines of a finished product! Something I couldn’t do a couple of months ago! Amazing! ( I started sewing for the first time – out of curiosity – with a sewing machine in January/2012)Loving it!

Also before I forget, that only up-cycled materials were used (except for the lace trim)

So here it is, today’s creativeness in a raspberry color… and thanks to Simon, it is already sold! Thank you Simon, it’s amazing!ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t forget to drop by next time!
